Treasure Scout

Terms of Use

Last updated 23 September 2026

By creating an account or using Treasure Scout you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. What this service is

Treasure Scout is a noticeboard. It lets people publish the time and place of garage sales, curbside pickups, giveaways and estate sales, and lets other people find them on a map. We host the noticeboard; we are not a party to anything that happens at a sale.

We do not verify listings. Anyone with an account can post. We do not check that a sale is real, that it happens at the stated time, that the goods are as described, or that the person posting has any right to give away what they are offering. Treat every listing as an unverified claim by a stranger.

2. Your account

3. What you may not post

4. Your safety at a sale

Meeting strangers to buy, sell or collect items carries real risk. Take sensible precautions: visit in daylight, bring someone with you, do not enter a stranger's home, and trust your instincts. You attend sales entirely at your own risk. We are not responsible for anything that happens before, during or after a transaction between users.

5. Content you post

You keep ownership of what you post. By posting you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, display and distribute that content within the app for as long as you keep it there — this is simply what is required to show your listing to other users. Delete the content and that licence ends.

You confirm you have the right to post what you post, including any photographs.

6. Moderation

We may remove any listing and disable or delete any account, with or without notice, if we believe these terms have been broken or the service is being abused. Disabling an account blocks sign-in and hides that account's listings; it does not delete the data, and it can be reversed.

7. Availability — no promises

Treasure Scout is provided "as is" and "as available", with no warranties of any kind. We may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of it at any time. We do not guarantee that data will never be lost, so keep your own record of anything that matters to you.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, nor for lost profits, lost data, or any loss arising from your use of the app or from dealings with other users. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the current version; continuing to use the app after a change means you accept it.
